Comment spam attack from 109.230.213.100

Network connections

This morning I was attacked by a robot. I quickly noticed that my websites were slow and saw a pretty large amount of traffic on port 80: 208 connections!

SeaMonkey 2.0

I guess I liked Netscape just way too much... I used Mozilla after Netscape went down and bust, then I continued with SeaMonkey 1.x and now I just finished installing SeaMonkey 2.0.

There are features in this system that are just better than in FireFox. However, SeaMonkey 2.0 is a re-sync. with FireFox 3.x. In other words, this is very similar to FireFox, with the correct display features of the HTML code. But it keeps the menu, preferences and look in general of SeaMonkey. (although the fonts have changed... I'll have to get used to those!?)

Lists and using images as bullets

One thing we do with lists on a website is to put a small image to replace the default bullet with something that looks nice in the theme.

If you are still reading the documentation on how to place an image in a list to replace the default bullet and what you read is some talks about list-style-image then you are in the wrong direction. Of course, this works great with Mozilla. But Internet Explorer does not understand the concept of list-style-image at all.

Javascript: setTimeout()

The other day, I wrote a module for Drupal. Up to here, no problem. What I wrote required a small amount of Javascript to make a dropdown menu feature work. That worked just fine under Mozilla and FireFox, and even Safari & Konqueror.

When I tried with Internet Explorer, nope. Not working at all.

The function I was using goes like this:
