CRON Drupal says "HTTP/1.0 302 Found" about "/cgi-bin/ipdiags.ha" (AT&T U-Verse)

I run a few Drupal website and once per hour I run the cron.php script. I do it only once per hour because nothing changes so often on my websites so it would require faster refreshes.

Once in a while (relatively rarely now) I get a list of errors from CRON saying that the checks failed. The errors look something like this:

HTTP/1.0 302 Found
Location: /cgi-bin/ipdiags.ha
Pragma: no-cache
Content-Type: text/html

<html><meta http-equiv=Refresh content=0;url=/cgi-bin/ipdiags.ha>
<body></body></html>

As you can see, this is a 302 so a temporary error. ...

My JavaScript code does not get the correct widget size, why?

As I am developing a set of pages for a customer, I ran in an intersting problem: my JavaScript function could not properly define the sizes of a box.

That box is heavily tweaked with the CSS assigned to it, as well as all of its neighbors. So I thought that may have something to do with it.

What I hadn't realized so far is that the ready() function of jQuery() is called once the script that includes it is ready (as in loaded) and not once the document as a whole is ready (done loading, i.e. onload event.)

With that knowledge it was easy to understand that I was actually finding myself ...

Closing a window from Flash

I had a little project which requirements was an Adobe Flash animation that calls a JavaScript function to close a browser window.

With the newest version of Internet Explorer, it will first ask you whether you want to let the script close your window... that's a problem when you'd like that process to be smooth (i.e. without user interaction.)

Twitter and emails

Today, I finally registered with Twitter. I'll be looking into a way to connect that to my blogs so each time I blog, I get a tweat eliminating the need for me to actually tweat for real.

Okay, that's fine, but guess what... they want me to verify my email address and it does not work.

URL limits in browsers location bar

I thought it was interesting to see that some people actually tested the length of URLs in different browsers. You have to know that the size of a URL in the location bar may be differently limited than the length of the URLs you can go to with the browser (i.e. the URL in an anchor may need to be shorter! Or could be longer and still work.)

Note: These are Browsers limits in 2006.

Setting the action attribute of a form with Internet Explorer

After about 2 hours of search, I finally got it. All the docs were telling me do this:

	var f = document.getElementById('myform');
	f.action = url;
	f.submit;

And it did not work. I was getting an error. So thinking that this 'action' is an attribute I used f.setAttribute('action', url);. And that worked great with Sea Monkey, FireFox, etc. but one day we tried under Internet Explorer. That one was not working somehow. Reading some notes on the net, indeed, setAttribute('action', url)is no good under Internet Explorer. But f.action = url;generates an error?!

After ...
