Why are hotmail.com emails blocked by postgrey even though it is whitelisted?

Lately, I received emails from a customer something like 12 hours later...

So I checked closer and could see that the email was from hotmail.com.

Great.

On the server, I edited my whitelist to see what was going on:

vim /etc/postgrey/whitelist_clients.local

Searching the list I could see hotmail.com, so why is it that it gets bounced with a 450 by Postgrey if it is whitelisted?

Looking closer at the logs left behind by Postgrey, I found this line:

Apr 23 06:33:34 m2osw postgrey[1742]: action=greylist,
      reason=new,
      client_name=<secret>.outlook.com,
      ...

Compressed CSS & Boost when developing

On my sites, I'm using boost to allow much faster access time (close to instantaneous in comparison to hitting Drupal and all the database accesses...)

The result is great! But it generates some problems when you test a page. It does not get refreshed... Easy, you can clear the cache. Not advisable when your cache is around 10,000 files. A better way, is to go to that page and click on "Flush Page" (available in one of the blocks offered by boost.)

Name server IP address

Why is my nameserver IP address not changing?

If you have a domain that you use as a nameserver (instead of using your domain name provider name servers), then you will need to maintain the IP address of that nameserver.

You can (and should) define your nameserver IP address in your zone. This is fairly straight forward. Simply define the ns1, ns2, ns3, etc. as a regular address and also mark them as NS entries:

Do you know how to pronounce Linux?

Yes.

I have been around a lot of people and there are many who heard of Linux but to not know how to pronounce that word. I never thought it was complicated, that's a latin word, right?

So... maybe it is not "Lie neex"... Think about the "i" later and see how Italians, Spanish and French people pronounce it... Yes! The right way! You got it!

Anyway... for those in doubt, there is a file you can listen to:

Path versus website domain & path with Drupal

With Drupal, it is possible to have many sites defined in many different ways.

These are the things you can have in your URL that Drupal will understand and use to configure your site. The configuration file is called settings.php and will reside in a folder of which the name is determined using the URL used to access the site.

1. Fully qualified domain name

2. Port

3. Path withing the website

Sites are expected to be found under the 'sites' folder found in the same directory as the index.php file.

PayPal secure website...

Today I connected on PayPal to check out a sale and got a message from my system saying that a certificate could not be verified because it had a PayPal URL but pointed to geo-trinity.com.

You can see the message below:

You have attempted to establish a connection with "ekkef42kcpmrf2r3.stats.paypal.com". However, the security certificate presented belongs to "*.geo-trinity.com". It is possible, though unlikely, that someone may be trying to intercept your communication with the web site.

If you suspect the certificate shown does not belong to ...
